No Turning Back Now...

Artsy: Life = Grapefruit
I am now officially preregistered at the University of Vienna to study Law and English and American Studies.

Ô_o

SCARY!!

In not so scary news: The coalition in the Austrian government fell apart some time in July, so we're having new elections on September 28th - incidentally also the GP of Singapore and my birthday. Because of that, they're now trying to get a few issues out of the way in time, one of which concerns the tuition fees ... and it's quite likely that they'll get rid of the again!!
It's 'only' €363 per term in Austria, but still, it's money, and wouldn't it be great if they decided that just in time for me? XD

*applauds you for preregistering* Not sure I'm of much help for your subjects but feel free to poke me for English stuff (and I'll happily go 'I have no idea what you're talking about!' haha).

Wow no tuition fee possibility *insanely jealous*. still, €363 is cheaper than what I paid (£1200/yr approx) and now they pay £3000 here, unless you live in scotland and go to uni there, in which case its free. Damn West Lothian question!

*bows* I'm not at all nervous about English - rather extremely excited - but Law... you know, really not sure if it's interesting at all, but it's the smart thing to do.

I know, that would be awesome :D They only introduced the fees a few years ago and I think they might get enough votes against them.
WHUT, Scotland is free too? That's awesome - I'm seriously considering doing a term or two in Edinburgh (since London is much, much too expensive).

Scotland is only free if you have lived there for 3 or more years and you want to go to uni there. Its a way of trying to get Scots to use Scottish Uni's. Everywhere over here will cost you a fortune though. It does as a home student, but it's even more as an International Student. I'm not entirely sure how just doing one term would work though...

Ah yes, there had to be a catch =) Well, I've been told that if you go with Erasmus or something along those lines, they pay for you, and even if you just organise it yourself, your 'original' uni (in my case Vienna) will pay the fees with funds or something. So that won't stop me :p

Yeah. I think Erasmus is a year abroad. I don't know how the payment works though. You can get funding, but you have to pay some of it yourself. Anne did Erasmus from here to America for a year. I don't know quite what she paid but its worth looking into the details of Erasmus because her 2nd year ended up being a pass/fail year instead of properly counting towards her degree level.
